
Pichai Sundararajan or Sundar Picha (Indian-American business executive) is more popularly known. He is the chief executive officer (CEO) for Alphabet Inc.'s subsidiary Google. Born in Madurai, India.[4] Pichai graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in metallurgical engineering. After moving to the United States, Pichai earned an M.S. from Stanford University in materials science and engineering and further attained an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was awarded the Siebel Scholar and an Palmer Scholar, respectively.Pchai began his career as a materials engineer. After a brief stint at the management consultancy firm McKinsey & Co., Pichai joined Google in 2004 as a product manager. He managed the product management as well as innovation efforts for a suite of Google's client software which included Google Chrome as well as ChromeOS and also being the primary person responsible for Google Drive. Pichai also managed the creation of Google Maps, Gmail, and other apps. In the year 2010, Pichai also made public the open-sourcing announcement of the new codec for video VP8 developed by Google and announced the new video format, WebM. The Chromebook was released in 2012. Pichai further added Android to the Google products he was managing in 2013.
