Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a family of 12 poor children that would be raised in the same household, figured out very young how to overcome of difficulties with her incredibly vibrant imagination. The songs she wrote were composed before she was able to read and write. When she was eight, she bought her first electric guitar and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the that same year, Gold Band Records was a small independent record label. As a student in high school she established herself locally but dreamed about an even bigger stage. In the exact day that she graduated from high school, it was 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner's syndicated tv show required a new singer at around this time. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. The year 1974 was the first when she made the decision to quit Wagoner's band because the popularity of her solo albums like Joshua Coat, Many Colors, and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton's song, I Will Never Love You (for Wagoner), was able to reach the top of the. #1 spot following their broke up. It was the first time a song hit the top spot.
