Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop stars: a superstar who managed to fully transition from country to the mainstream making her an iconic pop culture icon and conquering the world in the process. Swift left her heritage in the country genre like a second skin and proved that she had the best pop sensibility of the time. Swift was the only musician/singer to take the popular zeitgeist out on the road. Swift's talents are evident in some of her earliest tracks, notably the neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless which came out in 2008, Swift discovered who she is and find audiences across the globe. Fearless became hugely popular not only in America with its Top Ten singles Love Story as well as You Belong with Me helped it to achieve six platinum records as well as around the globe. It was a huge success throughout Canada Australia as well as the U.K. Swift's next album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the debut, further consolidated this momentum. It helped propel Swift into the spotlight. Through her next three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017), Swift's popularity grew and she found herself in a music scene with a clear sense of where she deserved to be. It was not long before she reformulated her approach in 2020's more streamlined siblings folklore (and Evermore) and stayed atop of the pop world.
